Katrina is a beautiful blend of East & West. Her father is Kashmiri Indian and mothers a British citizen. Katrina was born in Hong Kong but was brought up in Hawaii and London.

At a very young age of 14 Katrina did modelling for a jewellery campaign. From then on she continued modelling.

Boom was the first movie in which Hot Katrina was introduced by Filmmaker Kaizad Gustad. At that time she was doing modelling assignment in London.

However the movie was a flop, but her angelic face and voluptuous figure makes a lasting impression on viewers. That movie was breakthrough for her career. Not many have gained the fans and popularity as a new entrant as Katrina has done.

Katrina Kaif decided to take movie career full time and move permanently to Mumbai.

When Katrina came to India, she was offered lot of modelling assignments. She received offers from Fevicol, Lakme, LG, Coca Cola, Pantene, Kodak, L'Oreal & Veet. She was judged as the face of the year for the Lakme India Fashion Week (2005). The Lakme commercial made her very famous.

Though her first movie was flop but her two other Telegu movies Malliswari and Pidugu did get her noticed. After that there was no looking back for Katrina. Soon she became the heartthrob and dream girl of millions of people around the world.

As she is not a native Indian, she is very poor at Hindi, but she is working very hard on her Hindi and also started taking Kathak lessons - both very important to survive and excel in Bollywood.

Katrina's philosophy is that no matter where you come from, the bottom line is that everyone wants to be loved, respected, and cared for.

Katrina Kaif admits that she is very romantic person and dreams far too much of romance and love. She is extremely emotional. "When you are in love, the person you are involved with should mean everything to you..." she says. She also reveals that her biggest asset is not being afraid. "I don't get intimidated easily so there's not too many restrictions on what I can or can't do" she says.

Although she has been seeing Salman Khan for sometime now, she still refuses to talk about him in the media. She has made it clear that her personal life is not meant to be known to all and that no one has a right to pass any kind of judgment on it.
